Rules

Organiser: Mark Wilkinson

1. Eligibility & Entry

The Order of Merit (OOM) is open to all male playing members of Pleasington Golf Club aged 18 or over on 1 January 2026.

The entry fee is £25, payable via bank transfer, and must be received before 23:59 on 31 March 2026.

Entries received after this deadline will not be accepted.

Once entered, the entry fee is non-refundable.

Players who resign membership or cease playing during the season for any reason forfeit any right to a refund or prize.

2. Qualifying Rounds

All club competition rounds (excluding open competitions) played during the season are eligible, provided that:

  • The competition is a singles competition
  • The correct tees for that competition are used:
    • 64 tees (previously white)
    • 66 tees (previously blue)
  • The round is returned and scored in accordance with club rules

Social rounds, roll-ups, casual rounds, and non-qualifying competitions do not count.

The first qualifying round is the Thursday Stableford on Thursday 2 April 2026.

The final qualifying round is the season-closing Stableford on Saturday 31 October 2026.

Counting competitions may be amended during the season. The organiser’s decision on which competitions count is final.

3. Scoring Format

All qualifying rounds will be converted to Stableford points.

All handicap calculations, including PCC adjustments, are those applied by the competition system on the day and are final.

The Stableford score recorded by the competition system is final.

Disqualified rounds, No Returns, or rounds subsequently declared invalid by the Club Competitions Committee will not count as qualifying scores.

4. Counting Scores

A maximum of 15 best Stableford scores will count towards each player’s OOM total.

There is no minimum number of rounds required to be eligible for prizes.

Once a player has more than 15 qualifying rounds, only their highest 15 scores will be included in the total.

5. League Table & Updates

The OOM league table will be updated periodically during the season.

While every effort will be made to keep the table up to date, slight delays may occur.

It is each player’s responsibility to check that their scores are included and to raise any issues promptly.

Any discrepancies must be raised within 7 days of the competition being played.

6. Ties

In the event of a tie on total points at the end of the season:

  • The 16th best Stableford score will be used to determine the higher position
  • If players remain tied, the 17th best score will be compared, and so on
  • If players remain tied after all qualifying rounds have been considered, the prize money for the tied positions will be split equally

7. Prizes

The number of prizes paid out will be confirmed and published once the final number of entrants is known.

Prizes are based solely on final OOM standings.

8. Rules Clarifications

Any disputes or questions regarding eligibility or scoring must be raised within a reasonable time.

The organiser’s decision on any matter relating to the OOM is final.

9. Spirit of the Competition

The OOM is intended to encourage participation and friendly competition.

Players are expected to enter and compete in the spirit of fair play and good sportsmanship at all times.
